Store Policies

Background Checks: All Firearms sales will be ran through the NICS background check system. Assuming you receive a "Proceed" response, your gun will be eligible for purchase immediately.  If you receive a "Delayed" response and NICS does not provide a response before the Brady Date, we will be happy to transfer the item at this time. If you receive a "Denied" response, we will absolutely not proceed with the transaction. Any Special Order items that receive a "Denied" background check will be subject to a 20% restocking fee, at the Company's discretion. 

All State and Federal laws will be followed for all transactions. 

Age Restrictions: You must be 18 years old to purchase a long gun or long gun ammunition. You must be 21 years old to purchase a pistol, receiver, or pistol ammunition. 

We do not accept paper copies of Drivers Licenses for identification purposes. 

Transfer Storage: When an FFL transfer arrives, we will attempt to contact you as soon as we get the gun checked in. From this point, you have 14 days to complete the transaction (excluding mandatory wait times or NICS delays). If your gun is present after 14 days, we will assess a $15/week storage fee. This fee will accrue until the item is picked up, or until the storage fees exceed the value of the item. If storage fees exceed the value of the item, Chapel Hill Guns and Ammo will assume possession of the item and re-sell it in an attempt to recover our expenses. 

Refund Policy: We offer a 14 day return policy on Pre-Owned guns that are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, Assuming the gun was returned to us in the same condition that it was sold. 

All NEW gun sales are final. Any defective new guns or warranty repairs will need to be handled through the manufacturer. We are happy to help coordinate shipping or provide documentation in this scenario. 

All Ammunition sales are final.

We do our best to explain laws and policies to the best of our abilities, given our limited understanding of the law. However, if you have further questions or need legal advice, you should consult with a lawyer, not a gun shop. 

Layaway: Layaway Sales will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you are a regular repeat customer, you will likely be able to purchase on layaway. If you are a first timer, then you will not. All layaway sales will require both parties to sign a layaway agreement. 

Pricing is subject to change at all times. Any quoted prices, either online or in-store, are CASH prices. We add a 3% processing charge on any debit/credit card transaction. 

All applicable purchases will be subject to 6% Michigan sales tax.
